We needed a few extra stools around the out door deck, so I began throwing a few recycled items together - a hessian coffee sack, fading cushions and a milk crate. They took about an hour to make and ended up looking pretty rustic, but I like them.
First, I cut the hessian sack (also known as burlap) up into one long strip made to fit around the milk crate, and sewed it on by hand, which took about 5 minutes.
Then I hand sewed the edges of the cushion onto the top of the hessian sack, so that our behinds have a soft landing while we sip our tea on the deck or garden. This took about 10 minutes.
Now doesn't that look comfy and practical? Why not come over and have a seat?
