Enoggera Dam

Breezy afternoons by the water are the best way to make the most of the approaching warm weather. We packed a picnic basket and set off to explore our local water hole, only 10 kilometers west of Brisbane city. Since early settlement, Enoggera Dam has been a favorite escape, with ladies arriving by horse and cart in times gone by.

As we visited in late Spring, golden water lilies were blooming, ducks were drifting and the whole area was buzzing with native bees in the gum blossoms.  After a quick dip in the water, we floated home in a daze of coolness.
